In this workshop we will introduce students to the work of an urban planner and what the sustainable cities of the future will need to look like. We will show them images from cities that already exist and discuss what aspects of these communities make them sustainable (renewable energy sources, mass transit, community centers, gardens, green roofs, etc). Students will be given cut out images of these elements, as well as key words, and work in small groups to create a collage of ideas, a vision board of sorts, that they can take back to their classrooms and continue the discussion of future world building.
